Tranquil Care Hospice Awarded CHAP Accreditation

Santa Monica-based hospice company Tranquil Care Hospice receives CHAP Accreditation and demonstrates they meet the industry’s highest recognized standards.

Santa Monica, CA – Tranquil Care Hospice, the only hospice services company based in Santa Monica, CA, announced today that they have been awarded CHAP (Community Health Accreditation Partner, Inc.) Accreditation under the CHAP Hospice Standards of Excellence. By achieving CHAP Accreditation, Tranquil Care Hospice has also been deemed to meet the Medicare Conditions of Participation and is certified as a Medicare provider.

CHAP is an independent, not-for-profit, accrediting body for community-based health care organizations. Through “deeming authority” granted by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), CHAP has the regulatory authority to survey agencies providing home health, hospice and home medical equipment services to determine if they meet the Medicare Conditions of Participation and CMS Quality Standards. CHAP’s purpose is to define and advance the highest standards of community-based care.

“By achieving CHAP Accreditation, Tranquil Care Hospice has shown a commitment to excellence,” said Barbara McCann, CHAP President & CEO. “We are excited to begin our partnership with them by offering support in its commitment to providing quality care and continuous improvement.”

The rigorous evaluation by CHAP focuses on structure and function, quality of services and products, human and financial resources and long term viability. By receiving CHAP Accreditation, Tranquil Care Hospice has demonstrated that it meets the industry’s highest nationally recognized standards.

“We are dedicated to providing the highest level of care to those in need in our community,” says Richard Jenik, Tranquil Care Hospice’s Vice President Home & Community Based Services. “With the ever increasing number of hospice agencies, receiving CHAP accreditation is one of the best ways for the community to judge the standards by which we live every day. We are very proud of this accomplishment and working daily with our incredible team has been a true blessing.”
